Scale AI Grant Application Form

In order to apply for financial assistance through the Scale AI grant program, please complete this application. We will confirm your eligibility based on program criteria and the information provided by you. We will notify you of the decision by email within 3 – 5 business days.

As part of the application and eligibility processes, you will be asked to upload the following documentation using our secure upload form: 

  1. A copy of your SIN card or SIN confirmation letter 
  2. Government-issued photo identification 
  3. Non-Canadians please also upload your work permit and a copy of your passport. If you are a permanent resident, you do not have to upload these documents.

Per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the Scale AI grant is considered a taxable benefit and you will receive a T4A slip from the University of Toronto in the year following your enrolment. Submitting these documents is required for eligibility to receive the Scale AI grant. Providing these documents through email is not secure, so we cannot stress enough the importance of submitting these sensitive documents via our online tool. 

If you are looking to take more than one course eligible for the Scale AI grant, it is necessary to fill out one Scale AI form per course, however, you only have to upload your personal documents once. As noted above, please upload your documents before registering for eligible courses. 

We are only able to provide the grant program (and financial assistance) to learners who have been notified of grant approval prior to registration and payment. Please ensure you are approved for the Scale AI grant program prior to enrolling into any courses.
