Volunteering is an excellent way to meet new people, use your English, gain valuable experience and support local community not-for-profit organizations and charities. There are many exciting events that students can participate in, such as: community festivals, cultural events, environmental projects, fundraisers for charitable causes, and sporting events. Events will vary depending upon the season and time of year (and will vary at different times of the day or week). Attend the weekly volunteer meetings to sign up for upcoming opportunities. Students who volunteer are awarded with a reference letter recognizing their volunteer hours and involvement. This letter (and experience) can help with future university, college, and job applications.
