Important Announcement: Records Management and Information Management Certificates
We are pleased to announce that the School of Continuing Studies will be launching a new certificate in Records and Information Management, with the first course 3214 Fundamentals of Records and Information Management in Fall 2016.
With the launch of the new certificate, previous versions of Records Management and Information Management Certificates and courses, previously offered as part of the iSchool’s Continuing Education Program will no longer be offered for learners who are beginning the program.
The School would like to support learners who are mid-stream and interested in completing either the previous certificate or the new certificate in Records and Information Management by offering the following two options:
- Receive credit for courses previously completed at the iSchool (before fall 2014) or the School of Continuing Studies towards completing the new RIM certificate. The course 3214 RIM Fundamentals will be waived for such learners who have completed a minimum of 24 hours of course work through previous courses
- Enroll in one of the advanced level courses, 3215 Records & Information Management Practice (Starts Winter 2017) or 3216 Records & Information Management Strategies
(Starts Spring 2017) of the new certificate to complete the previous version of the Information Management certificate you were enrolled in. You must have completed at least 48 hours or more of foundations and practitioner level course work in the previous Information Management certificate to qualify for this option.
If you are interested in exploring either of these two options, please write to the School, for an evaluation of your standing and eligibility (SCSbusiness@learn.utoronto.ca)
