Do you want to deliver more business value to your organization? This certificate program will help you develop a holistic and integrated approach to governance and management of enterprise IT. Conceived for senior and mid-level business and IT managers, the content is aligned broadly with the five domains of the CGEIT (Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT) certification offered by ISACA: framework for the governance of enterprise IT; strategic management; benefits realization; risk optimization; and resource optimization. You'll learn to align business strategy and IT with the mission and goals of the enterprise, and how to optimize business benefits through effective investment, sourcing, deployment and performance measurement. You'll explore IT risk-management frameworks that can prevent or mitigate business losses. This certificate is offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Information.

Aaron Cheng, B.Sc., B.A., MBA o Aaron Cheng is a seasoned Information Technology & Telecom Executive with over twenty-five years of experience in building and transforming Enterprise IT organizations in the Energy sector. Aaron’s most recent role was Vice-President of IT at Enercare Inc. He has led a successful IT integration of a major business acquisition while building up a new IT organization. Prior to joining Enercare, he was the Head of IT at Ontario Power Authority responsible in partnering with business clients to develop and manage province wide energy conservation programs. He has held various IT and Telecom management positions at Hydro One, including Director of IT Systems and Director of Network Engineering. Aaron also served as the Chair and President of IT Service Management Form (itSMF) Canada, which is a not for profit organization with membership across the country to promote IT Service Management best practices. Aaron has a BSC from University of Toronto, Hons BA from York University and a MBA from University of Liverpool.
Amalia Barthel, B.Sc., MSc., PMP, CIPM, CRISC Amalia is an Independent Privacy and GRC Advisor working with clients to support them in understanding IT, information security and privacy risks. She has started her career in IT prior to Y2K and evolved it into the realm of information security, privacy, audit, risk management, compliance and governance. Her industry expertise spans from pharma, financial, insurance and telecom industry through to various levels of government. Amalia has developed and delivered enterprise learning programs for project management, privacy and security for adult learners and is a frequent speaker at various conferences and symposiums.Prior to becoming an Independent Advisor, Amalia worked within IT and Compliance departments managing IT change control in the context of mergers, transformations, strategic risk management and compliance issues, conducting IT controls and privacy audits and providing management with dashboard reporting on compliance. Amalia is active on various boards, such as PMI Southern Ontario Chapter (past Director of the Board) , the IAPP Canadian Advisory Board, Executive Director for the KnowledgeFlow Foundation and she is a collaborator of ISACA and the ISACA Toronto Chapter. Part of Amalia's mandate on these boards is to create and deliver educational programs for the community to support an ongoing understanding and awareness of cyber and privacy risks, in particular for youth and seniors.
Carlos Chalico, LI, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, PbDA, ISO 27000LA Carlos Chalico is an Information Technology Advisor with more than 18 years of experience. He has helped many companies, from Canada to Argentina, in solving problems related to IT governance, IT management and IT internal control. Carlos is currently the Director for the Eastern Region office of Ouest Business Solutions Inc. a Canadian IT consulting company headquartered in Vancouver. He also serves the ISACA Toronto chapter as the Membership Director and supports different projects from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Ouest in November 2012, Carlos was the Managing Partner of Ernst & Young’s IT Risk and Assurance practice for Mexico and Central America. Carlos was with Ernst & Young for 16 years where he was in charge of multiple projects related to IT risks and controls including governance, management, information security and privacy. While working for Ernst and Young. Carlos was an instructor for different universities in Mexico such as Universidad Iberoamericana and Escuela Bancaria y Comercial. Fazal Husain, B.Sc Soc, MBA (Acct.), CMA, CISA, Six Sigma Fazal Husain is a leader of Business and IT transformation, he has over 25 years experiance and has held CIO and CFO roles in healthcare and commercial organization. Fazal is currently the Director of Enterprise Solutions Services for the City of Toronto and is responsible for SAP Enterprise Planning Systems, Business Intelligence. Enterprise Mobility Solutions, Open Data, integration and Common Components, and 311 IT Support Operations. He has successfully lead the City of Toronto in developing a highly effective governance structure to manage Data, SAP Investments and Financial Planning Analysis and Reporting system. Kelvin Cantafio, B.Sc. Kelvin Cantafio is a C-Level Business and Information Technology Executive with over 20 years of senior-level national and international experience in IT for Business and the Non-Profit Sector, including 13 years as the CIO and Director of IT for a multinational NGO. Kelvin is currently an Executive Partner for Gartner Canada, based in the Toronto office. Working with a diverse set of clients, including several Universities, he supports senior IT executives in areas such as strategic decision making, governance, technology optimization and benefits realization. Prior to joining Gartner, Kelvin was CIO of Plan International and led the Digital Divide Program for the International Federation of the Red Cross. Prior to joining the City, Lan held the role of VP of Innovations and Partnerships/CIO at Centennial College of Arts and Technology where she was instrumental in establishing a new college IT governance, setting the strategic IT direction for the college to improve student services and academic competitive advantage with IT innovations.
Lan spent a significant 25 years with various Ontario Government ministries in various IT executive positions.
