Select from these intensive (full-time study) ESL courses that will improve your ability to read, write and speak English:
    Comprehensive English (6 weeks, $2,350)
    The course provides a varied and balanced approach to language learning to help you use English in a wide range of common situations.

    Speaking English (3 weeks, $1,250)
    Build skills in the areas of speaking, listening and vocabulary, and review essential English grammar and pronunciation points.

    Academic English (12 weeks, $4,750)
    Designed for students who are planning to apply to an English-language university or college, the course develops university skills such as academic writing, reading, taking notes in lectures and academic discussions.

    Business English (6 weeks, $3,600)
    Develop the English language skills necessary for successful communication in your career. Skills emphasized include persuasion, negotiation, and presentation, as well as leading meetings, interviewing, and professional writing.

Comprehensive English (offered year round)
Experience English language learning both in and out of the classroom. Re-discover the fun in learning language and develop a new confidence in your ability to use English. Open to students from an elementary level to an advanced level of English proficiency, Comprehensive English provides a varied, challenging and balanced approach to learning the language you need for a wide range of common situations.

6 weeks
Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 13:00
Tuition: $2,350

Language Learner Outcomes:
  • The ability to initiate, sustain and expand on ideas, manage conversation and discussion, establish and maintain comfortable interactions with other speakers, and improve your overall speaking fluency
  • Identification of the listening skills and strategies necessary to understand a range of materials and, at the higher levels, application of critical listening approaches to sophisticated listening passages
  • A thorough analysis of individual strengths and weakness
  • The resources necessary to continue learning English outside the classroom




Speaking English (offered year round)
Improve your speaking and listening quickly in this 3-week intensive, challenging and lively English class designed to prepare you to use English in a wide range of common situations. Afternoon Conversation Club and occasional movie matinees complement your morning classes. Learn English by having fun in the world's most multicultural city - get out there and explore Toronto while improving your spoken English. Every season of the year has its unique activities (from ice skating and skiing in winter to camping and horseback riding in the summer) - join us and other students from around the world.

Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 13:00
Tuition: $1,250

Language Learner Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course, you will have learned the skills and strategies necessary to help you:
  • Apply strategic listening skills to a variety of taped or live materials, recognize discourse genre and respond appropriately
  • Speak more fluently: initiate, sustain and develop ideas, and respond appropriately to the ideas of others
  • Manage conversation and discussion, and apply acceptable socio-cultural rules
  • Speak more accurately through attention to grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary
  • Monitor your own accuracy and fluency, in and out of the class


Academic English (offered year round)
Study academic English to help you get into the university or college of your choice or purely to learn English in a rigorous and challenging way. Language instruction includes all the language skills with a strong emphasis on written work. Learning activities and materials are drawn from authentic academic settings. A final grade of B in Level 60 meets the English language facility requirements for admission to most undergraduate and graduate degree studies at the University of Toronto.

12 weeks
Monday to Friday, 13:00 - 17:00
Tuition: $4,750

Language Learner Outcomes - This course will help you:
  • Learn to write accurate, organized and well-developed summaries, responses and essays in English
  • Refine speaking skills for active participation in all aspects of academic studies
  • Improve speed and accuracy in reading and listening comprehension
  • Develop critical reading and listening strategies
  • Learn academic transfer skills such as annotation, note-taking and concept-mapping




Business English (offered year round)
Instruction focuses on speaking, listening, pronunciation, presentation skills and vocabulary, always within a professional context. Guest presentations, group projects and skill-based workshops help you prepare for success. English for Professionals allows experienced business and professional people to refine their English with like-minded classmates. Learn strategies to get your point across, present a convincing case, negotiate effectively, handle sensitive situations, and feel at ease in social settings. Participate in stimulating discussions on business and professional issues such as global marketing and business ethics.
