The Global Risk Management Institute, Inc. (GRMI) is the institute affiliated with the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. that issues the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. It is also the alumni association for individuals who hold the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or RIMS Fellow (RF) designations.
The Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management. Founded in 1950, RIMS represents nearly 4,000 industrial, service, non-profit, charitable and governmental entities. The Society serves more than 10,700 risk management professionals around the world.

Important information
Effective January 2022, GRMI will issue the CRM digital credential/badge, and a lifetime GRMI membership, to anyone that meets the designation eligibility requirements.
CRM candidates must:
- complete three required courses and SCS is a GRMI recognized Course Provider, see: 2921 Foundations of Risk Management, 0985 Risk Control, 0986 Risk Financing
- email a transcript upon course completion to GRMI@rims.org
- submit a $100 (USD) one-time registration fee
- pass three virtual CRM standardized exams; the CRM standardized exam fee is $175 (USD) for RIMS members and $195 (USD) for non-members
