Renowned Literary Tour Features SCS Creative Writing Students
The University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies is proud to sponsor The March Hare, a literary festival that first launched in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. In celebration of their 25th anniversary, The March Hare presents 17 shows across central and eastern Canada, including two dates in Toronto.
Literary luminaries like Miriam Toews, Michael Crummey and Miranda Hill will be joined on the second March Hare show in Toronto, a matinee on March 2, by three SCS Creative Writing Program students. Poet Conor McDonnell, Sabrina Ramnanan, winner of the Marina Nemat Award and soon to be published by DoubleDay, and Carmelinda Scian, recent first prize winner for short fiction from the Malahat Review, will be on hand to read from their recent works.
Musical guests Pamela Morgan, Duane Andrews and The Fretless will round out the events with east-coast inspired tunes.
Tickets can be purchased by phone after 1pm daily at 416-323-0051, or in person at The Winchester, 51a Winchester Street. $20 for one show, or $30 for both. Student special (with I.D.) $12 for one, and $20 for both.
