Green Building Practitioners – Green building is one of the top trends in architecture and building design, construction, maintenance and operation today. Green buildings enhance the well-being of their occupants and foster healthy communities and support the natural environment. They are instrumental in helping society achieve economic, environmental, and social success. Green building is the construction standard of the future and offers smart solutions for building maintenance and operation today. No matter where you fit into the market, green building offers benefits for: public agencies, builders and developers, architects, building professionals, affordable housing advocates, real estate professionals, homeowners and home buyers.

The School of Continuing Studies and the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering are pleased to be working with Canada’s Green Building Council (CaBGC) to offer LEED courses about the LEED Green Building Rating System, which lay the foundation for the new three-tiered LEED Designation program.

What is LEED?

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is an internationally accepted rating system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. It provides building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. Over 10,000 building professionals (engineers, architects, project managers) have earned the LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation in Canada, demonstrating their understanding of environmentally sustainable building design, construction and operation.
