Principles and Practices of Biosafety is a course which provides individuals with the skills required to review and analyze all components of a functional biosafety program. Previously only available to students and staff through the University of Toronto’s Office of Environmental Health and Safety, this practical course is now available exclusively through the School of Continuing Studies.
This course, for new biosafety officers, and individuals interested in this specialized area, will cover the tools, techniques, knowledge and skills required to review and analyze all components of a functional biosafety program. This course will also examine key management systems and techniques to improve stakeholder understanding and participation in biosafety programs. In addition, the course will cover material on blood borne pathogens and viral vectors.
Participants can use this course towards Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) continuing education points.
This course is recognized for continuing education points by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
