Business strategy begins with the identification and analysis of an organization’s competitive capabilities through knowledge areas such as marketing, IT or human resource, and utilizes these and other knowledge areas to chart the organization’s future strategic vision and strategic plan. Decisions which impact the business strategy are made with sensitivity to internal and external factors such as culture, societal values and industry trends.
