Auditing

Auditing is an official and objective examination and verification of an organization’s financial accounts, records, operations and risk management. The School offers a general course in auditing (SCS 0906 Auditing) and other courses which relate specifically to internal and external auditing. Auditing requires highly developed knowledge and skills as well as communication abilities.

Internal auditing, in particular, is a profession that is in demand according to the Toronto Financial Services Alliance (TFSA). Internal auditors work within their organizations to provide objective and independent analysis which adds value and improve an organization’s operations. Using a systematic and disciplined approach, internal auditors evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, governance and control processes within their organizations. See our Internal Auditing Certificate and work towards the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
