Certificate in Business Analysis

The new Certificate in Business Analysis was developed by the School of Continuing Studies to respond to the growing demand in many businesses for individuals with the knowledge, competencies and skills to become full-fledged Business Analysts, or BAs. Business analysis is the discipline involving the identification of business needs and associated potential solutions to business problems. Solutions often include a systems development component, but may also consist of process improvement or organizational change. The person who carries out this task is increasingly designated as a BA. Those BAs who work solely on developing software systems may be called IT Business Analysts, Technical Business Analysts, or Systems Analysts. The Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABoK) is defined by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and it serves as the basis for attaining the internationally recognized Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation.

The Certificate in Business Analysis consists of three courses that cover the BABoK: Foundations of Business Analysis, Leadership in Business Analysis and Business Analysis Tools and Techniques.
