Subhi Alsayed PEng, LEED AP, CEM
Subhi has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of building systems design, project management and construction. Subhi is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Energy Manager.
As the Innovation Manager at Tridel, one of the biggest residential highrise developers in Ontario, Subhi’s responsibilities include establishing core research priorities across all design and construction disciplines, with a primary focus on Energy Efficiency, Green and Renewable Technologies and Construction Innovation. Subhi also oversees the sustainability and green standards process across Tridel’s portfolio including LEED and Toronto Green Standards.
As the Project Director at Towerlabs@MaRS, a non-profit organization founded by Tridel and the MaRS Institute, Subhi’s role focuses on facilitating in-situ testing, piloting and demonstration projects in highrise buildings. Subhi also works directly with product developers/manufacturers and real estate owners and developers to accelerate the adoption of innovative green building technologies.
Subhi currently sits on the Program Committee of the Canada Green Building Council.

Gillian Bartlett, Ph.D.
Gillian Bartlett is the author of eight textbooks on subjects as disparate as English composition, Canadian history, driver education, and careers in the arts. A veteran teacher and editor, she earned her B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Toronto in 1970. After teacher training and completing her M.Ed. while teaching secondary school English, Gillian pursued her Ph.D. in applied linguistics at OISE/UT. She succumbed to the lure of the classroom for 12 more years, teaching full time at the National Ballet School and subsequently the University of Toronto Schools, before striking out on her own as a consultant and freelance writer. At the School of Continuing Studies she has worked on the creation of on-line courses as well as the review and development of certificate programs. Her passion, however, remains the classroom where she can share her joy in the idiosyncrasies of language with students who are equally intrigued by the way English works.

Andrea Carter is the Director, High Risk and the Director, Employment Equity & AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) at the University of Toronto.
