Through digital images, explore the great and influential houses that set the 'ideal' standards of their times, including the Golden House of Nero, Haddon Hall, Villa Rotunda and Strawberry Hill. We will discover the political, cultural and social reasons that dictated the development and use of the house during each period. We will explore the often-overlooked furniture, decorative arts and landscape gardens that enhanced them and made them true homes for their occupants.
