SCS Bursary FAQ

Bursaries are offered three times annually, 8-12 weeks prior to sessional start dates. Please check the Bursaries and Awards page regularly for the next scheduled application period.

Applicants must be residing in and eligible to work in Canada. Applications will be assessed based on financial need. Proof of income is required. Applicants with current outstanding debts to the School of Continuing Studies are not eligible. Students who qualify for other financial programs are not eligible, including students receiving OSAP for graduate or undergraduate funding. 

A limited number of bursaries with a value of up to $750 will be awarded annually. Applicants are eligible to receive funding for up to one course per academic session. Applicants can apply each session (three times annually).

The following programs and courses are not eligible for bursary funding:  

  • Health science courses offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine. 
  • U of T SCS Coding, Data, Cybersecurity, UX/UI and FinTech Boot Camps. 
  • The International Pharmacy Graduate Program.  
  • The Certificate in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and the Certificate in Applied Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management Certification, offered in collaboration with the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. 
  • Online courses for the Certificate in Data Science, offered in collaboration with the University of Waterloo Professional Development. 
     

No. Bursaries can only be applied at the time of registration. You will be ineligible to receive a course refund if you register and pay for a course prior to being notified of a bursary approval.
